Job Purpose
To lead and transform the human resource’s function, ensuring the development and implementation of robust HR strategies, policies, and practices. The primary focus will be on fostering a harmonious and compliant workplace by providing expert Industrial Relations (IR) leadership, and aligning all people management processes with organizational goals and Zimbabwean labor laws.

Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations and Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the company’s lead representative in all industrial relations matters, including engagements with the National Employment Council (NEC), trade unions (e.g., Zimbabwe Federations of Trade Union), and the Labour Court.
• Manage the full spectrum of disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring strict compliance with labour legislation and natural justice to mitigate risk.
• Develop and maintain proactive, constructive relationships with all employee representatives, workers’ committees, and external regulatory bodies to resolve disputes effectively and promote social dialogue.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to line management on all aspects of employee relations, conflict resolution, and change management to prevent grievances and build managerial competence.
• Lead negotiations on collective bargaining agreements and ensure compliance with industry-specific employment council regulations.

HR Strategy and Policy Development
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine HR policies, strategies, and procedures that align with the business` objectives and promote a culture of fairness, transparency, and respect.
• Champion culture-building initiatives to build employee engagement and improve retention.
• Partner with the executive team and line managers to drive workforce planning, organisational development, and transformation initiatives.
• Track and monitor key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, grievance resolution times) to inform data-driven decision-making and report periodically to management.
Talent Management and Operations
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including ethical and transparent recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
• Manage the performance management system, driving a culture of high performance and accountability through effective appraisal and feedback mechanisms.
• Identify training needs and coordinate development programs to enhance employee skills, productivity, and career progression.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administration of employee benefits (e.g., Medical Aid), and maintenance of impeccable personnel records and HR master files.
• Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements, including NSSA, ZIMRA (PAYE), and workers’ compensation.
• Support and guide line managers in handling daily personnel matters, from attendance management to employee inquiries.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., IPMZ Diploma) is a mandatory requirement.
• A Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.

Experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 3-4 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Proven track record and extensive hands-on experience in Industrial Relations, including handling complex disciplinary cases, grievance hearings, and negotiations with labour unions in Zimbabwe.
• Experience in the manufacturing, FMCG, or related sectors is essential. Experience in a high-volume, operational environment is highly preferred.
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Zimbabwean Labour Law, NEC procedures, and HR best practices.
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems (e.g., Belina Payroll) and HRIS is required.
